Why You May Want To Consider Our Program To Your Residents
- Customer Awareness: Many of your customers are not aware of the fact that they are 100% responsible for the unplugging, repair and replacement of sewer and water lines and pressure regulators on their side of the property line. The Service Plan brings this to their attention and provides them with a low cost protection plan.
- Infrastructure Rehabilitation Planning: Many communities are in a state of deferred maintenance relating to their sewer and water line infrastructure. Our Service Plan provides for an organized, insured and low cost method to gain community involvement in your infrastructure system rehabilitation planning. Upper sewer laterals are often in the worst shape of any part of the sanitation infrastructure.
- Environmental Protection: It goes without saying that a broken sewer infrastructure can create a host of environmental and health safety issues. Cost avoidance is a leading contributor to environmental irresponsibility.
- New Revenue Source To Support Utility Operations: The Plan is designed to pay for (1) professional repairs at retail parts and labor rates, and (2) monthly billing and distribution services. Your agency can elect to participate in the program at differing levels of participation, or you can elect to be totally passive in the process. If you elect to participate, you can generate new revenue from our Program to support your operations.
A portion of the Plan Service Fees have been allocated to cover the administrative and advertising distribution cost. At your agency’s election, you can provide services to the Plan that will entitle your agency to monthly reimbursement for the services rendered, and be the recipient of the repair reimbursement if you elect to do the repairs.
The participation levels are generally broken down as follows:
Level 1: Distribution and Promotion: The lowest level of involvement which can include (a) public announcements of the Plan, (b) information and Plan advertising distribution to your customers, (c) hand outs and billing inserts distribution, and (d) flyer/handout/brochure printing. Your agency will be compensated for the degree of involvement you have in the above elements.
Level 2: Billing: Adding the Plan fees to your agencies monthly billing statement, receiving the Plan fees from your customer and sending the funds and cash reconciliation report to our Plan Premium Trust Account.
Levels 1 and 2 above are usually combined and done by the sponsoring agency.
Level 3: Repair and Restoration: The insurance company is prepared to pay for professional repairs on behalf of the homeowner. In many instances your agency is rolling a truck and crew to the site for preliminary evaluation of public or private responsibility. If you elect to have your crew do the private side repairs, the insurance company will pay your agency the same rates they would have paid to an independent professional licensed contractor, which in most cases is more than your agencies cost or making such repairs. The additional revenue will support your other system rehabilitation projects.
Combining Levels 1,2 and 3 is the highest level of participation your agency can have in the plan. The only requirement is that you must at least be willing to do Plan level 1 in order for your agency to qualify for the Plan.
The CPIA administrative team will meet with your agency to go over the cost and participation parameters of the plan that will be custom designed for your communities. |
